讲座内容简介：

We study social efficiency of entry in the presence of downstream cost asymmetry and upstream price discrimination. In a closed economy, we show that the social desirability of entry critically depends on the magnitude of cost asymmetry. Entry is excessive when the entrants are highly inefficient, and it is insufficient when either the entrants are efficient or their inefficiency is low. The results are in sharp contrast to the existing literature considering upstream uniform pricing. We extend our analysis in an open economy to show that the nationality of firms and the sector of the foreign firms are important in determining social efficiency of entry under vertical relationship. Our findings generate important policy implications.

    曾辰航，美国密苏里-哥伦比亚大学经济学博士，中南财经政法大学副教授。研究领域为产业组织理论，应用微观经济理论。已经在Journal of Public Economic Theory，Review of Industrial Organization， Journal of Economics, Economics Letters 等国际知名期刊上发表多篇论文。
